Create the goodness of sweet cheese
This is one of the most beloved Hungarian fillings, and my favorite — a creamy, lightly sweet cheese filling with a hint of lemon.

-
- 1 pound farmer’s cheese
-
- ¼ cup sour cream

- ⅓ cup sugar (or to taste)
-
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (or if you can get it Dr Oetker Vanilla Sugar)
-
- Zest of 1 lemon
-
- A handful of raisins (optional)
Directions
Mix the farmer’s cheese, sour cream, sugar, vanilla, and lemon zest until creamy. Stir in raisins if desired.
Spread the filling onto each warm palacsinta, roll up, and sprinkle with powdered sugar.
For a special occasion, place filled palacsinta in a buttered baking dish and warm in a 350°F oven until heated through.
